2012 – Good Intentions – AUDIENCE Feedback

2012: Good Intentions

The show was great. The production values are now super high I must say… Well done again. It was lovely to see W11 so healthy and successful.
George Fenton, Composer (Birthday, W11 Opera commission 1982)

The young people involved worked so hard for a great performance and I was thoroughly entertained. Well done everyone on putting a brilliant production together!
Rebecca Walsh, Head of Education, Opera North

we had a very happy cast – there was even a little group of them singing highlights in Hammersmith Broadway when I made it back to the tube!…Thanks for all your help and support and congratulations for having run things so successfully.
Julian Philips, Composer Good Intentions

I thought it was original and fun… and the complexities of the rhythms and counting did not come across in a negative way from the confident performances all round.  I thought it was a very slick performance…And congratulations again on an ambitious and exciting piece.
Russell Hepplewhite, composer

I thought Good Intentions was very well done, skilfully written, brilliantly performed and directed, and a great subject for those young people. A great lesson in life about the pitfalls of temptation
Timothy Kraemer, composer and/or librettist of six W11 commissions

We both thought the opera was excellent….it is the thirtieth we have seen. Congratulations to everyone involved, especially the children, who plainly get as much fun out of it as they ever did.
Christopher and Valentine Thornhill, long-time supporters and benefactors

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without our visit to the W11 Opera!  As always we enjoyed the production very much, and it was good to see the energy and enthusiasm of the cast as they worked together to produce an excellent performance. It was also good to see a number of Queen’s Gate girls involved….I was very proud of all of them, and I am sure they enjoyed the opportunity to take part.

I am sure that it is a mammoth task each Christmas putting on such a production. You should be very pleased with want you achieve with the Opera each year, and with the wonderful opportunities you provide for so many young people. Many congratulations to you and your team.
Mrs. R. M. Kamaryc, Principal, Queen’s Gate School

Show was marvellous – really slick and some great performances.  Brought a tear to my eye.  Julian’s done a wonderful job.

Good Intentions: amazing fantastic…. It was astonishing, wonderful – and I have run out of superlatives.
 Steph Symonds, audience member

…well done with the performance, it was great! I think it’s a great thing for young people to be involved in.
Rory Champion, audience member

I just wanted to send you a quick email to say a huge thank you for all the work you have done with this year’s production. Issey has thoroughly enjoyed it , learnt a lot and made so many new friends it has been invaluable . I have always shied away from encouraging them to be a part of theatre….but when productions are run so professionally and with such ease I am so happy for both of the girls to be involved.
Melinda Dodd, cast parent

It was fantastic – and the range of talent simply inspirational. I take my hat off to you for another triumph – which could not have been possible without your organisation, dedication and enthusiasm.   And boundless good humour.  Daisy loved being part of it again – and has enjoyed being with her W11 friends once again.
Sally Abrahams, cast parent

Just a quick note to thank you for putting together another amazing W11 Production.  Alya is slowly coming back into the real world today…She has had the most amazing time and I know that she comes away from her W11 experience with friendships and memories that she will treasure for a lifetime.
Maya Sama, cast parent

Ruby had such a fantastic experience doing W11. She hasn’t stopped singing the songs and talking about it. I was very impressed with the production and looking forward to seeing it again on DVD.
